Feature Wall Wardrobe

Our clients wanted a feature wall for their home office and picked out their own veneer for the
custom handles.

We contrasted it against the reddish tone of the Sapele plywood and are very pleased with the outcome.

Birch Framed Glass Sliding Doors

Our journey involved several prototypes and tests to achieve the perfect thickness and profile, while balancing the structural requirement of bearing the weight of the glass.

Each detail, from the mitred half lap joinery to the birch plywood border, was carefully crafted to fit together seamlessly. Precise planning and fabrication allowed us to maintain the slender frames' alignment, ensuring a consistent look and feel whether open or closed.

As a nod to tradition, we repurposed solid timber from old door frames into intricately carved slotted handles, which we inset flush into the stiles of the door.

Pegboard Wall with Shoe Cabinets

The client wanted a pegboard wall for their entryway where they can display items, box up the DB, store their shoes and hang their skateboards.

They wanted the wood tone to match their interiors and so we recommended Marine Plywood.

We made the shoe cabinets that could flip down and store at least 4 pairs of shoes in each cabinet.

Hooks and shelves were provided for their display items, as well as a custom skateboard peg where they could hang up their skateboards when not in use.

The DB box cover was a fixed one, but had a removable sliding door where one could easily access the DB box and meters for readings.

DB BOX SHOE CABINET BENCH AND STORAGE UNIT

Replaced the DB box with birch finished in a walnut stain, added a little seating area to put on shoes, and under those seats are ample space to hold shoes.
A tall cabinet storage was then set up on the left, with a top cabinet and a taller lower cabinet. We framed these with side panels that are off set from the unit.

Tip on hardware was used to open the doors without having handles for a more clean look.

BIRCH AND WHITE MELAMINE KITCHEN

All internals and lower cabinets are made using white melamine plywood, while the upper cabinets had birch plywood trims and doors.

The client really liked the look of the exposed plywood edges, and so we kept that in mind, having onset cabinet doors and drawer faces with a 45 degree angle cut for ease of opening them. We sanded the edges down and finished it in a hardwax oil

Book Shelf Cabinet

Our client wanted a 3 metre tall bookshelf to maximise storage in their bedroom.
They opted for fluted door panels for a modern look.

We designed the middle section to be opened for display and easy access.
This also kept the costs down for the clients to fit their budget.

Each flute was cut and glued on by hand to the door panels. No nails here through the face.

Marine plywood was used for the facade and doors, finished in a hardwax oil.

Pegboard wall

with shoe cabinet

It was a pleasure creating a custom pegboard wall for our friends. This pursuit involved several modular components that offer a range of functionalities, whether for displaying cherished items, organizing essentials, or enhancing convenience in various spaces. One can get creative in placement of the the modules as they deem fit to fit the purpose and outlook they would like to achieve.

The use of Marine Plywood for both the walls and modules matched the home owners’ furniture in the house, being true to their aesthetic and also providing a more durable and structurally sound facade.

Baseball Pegboard

Becasue our client is a Baseball player in the Singapore National Team, we were tasked to create a custom pegboard with modules designed to hold specific items such as Baseball gloves and a baseball.
We used Birch Plywood this time as the light toned wood helps with making a small space look less cluttered.

As with all our pegboards, it comes with hooks and flat shelves that comes in 2 sizes.
Also a box shelf with removable sliding door panels.

Master Wardrobe

A his and hers side to a Birch plywood wardrobe, and extra storage above that stretches along the
width of the furniture piece.

It was such a pleasure designing and making this twin wardrobe,
we integrated the door handles for a more seamless finish.

To make full use of the space, we took advantage of a little alcove by the right to make a tall blind corner cabinet
to fit tall and slim items.

We also made a little kueh lapis round over on the corner, to make sure there were no sharp edges to stub toes.

Stainless Steel Countertop

Kitchen

One thing we truly believe in is building up your home in segments and really living in the space to figure out what types of carpentry you need and want

Our clients opted for curtains instead of doors for their kitchen storage below and the cabinets were topped off with a single piece stainless steel countertop with an integrated sink.

Thery also wanted open shelvings above their kitchen work area and found that cabinets suited their needs better.
So we went in and boxed it up

Coupled with wired glass to showcase their collection of beautiful ceramics.

Solid Wood Shelves Cabinet

The use of Rubberwood was ideal as it is plenty hefty and durable, especially for a big piece of furniture. Rubberwood tends to be more resistant to insects and has minimal shrinkage even in our humid country.
We stained the wood in a natural hardwax oil finish, in a colour that brings out the Rubberwood accents.

The furniture takes centre-stage in the living area, which functions both as a decorative piece as well as a functional item too. There are plenty of shelf space, drawers and cabinets. Overhead cabinets also gave more storage options as well as maximising available space.

Shoe Holder

Our friends had an idea to build a shoe rack that sits flat across their corridor. We loved the idea! The corridor was not very wide, so having shoe space horizontally instead of vertically was most ideal.

To match the wood of the existing carpentry throughout the house, we used Marine plywood, coupled with paracords to hold the shoes up.

Dining Table with Storage

Collaborating with The Project No. on this project,
we built a dining table with integrated storage space below.

To reduce the visual weight of the furniture, we elevated the piece with externally mounted legs.

On the doors of the cabinet and drawer faces, we etched out handles into the marine plywood, so they wouldn't protrude out, and potentially nick someone in the leg.

A sintered stone top was mounted above a set of pegs, c
reating a visual separation between the base and the top.

Kitchen Extension

This project involved a kitchen extension crafted from Birch Plywood, with the drawers adorned with HPL (High-Pressure Laminate) facings. It was truly an enjoyable unit to assemble, with a strong focus on intricate joinery details.

The use of Birch Plywood not only provided a natural and warm aesthetic but also ensured durability and structural integrity for the kitchen extension. The HPL faced drawers added a touch of sophistication and practicality, allowing for easy maintenance and cleaning.

Throughout the construction process, meticulous attention was given to the joinery, ensuring precise and seamless connections. We really wanted to emphasise on details for this, in turn, it elevated the visual appeal of the project.

Interior Windows

One of the notable features of this project was the incorporation of interior windows, a clever and bright idea to maximize the flow of natural light throughout the house. In this project, we embarked on a new endeavor by utilizing plywood for the windows, marking our first exploration into this unique approach.

Embracing the use of plywood for the windows added a touch of warmth and character to the overall design. This material choice not only offered a natural and organic aesthetic but also showcased our commitment to innovation and creative experimentation.

The integration of these interior windows undoubtedly transformed the residential space, infusing it with an abundance of natural light and providing a refreshing atmosphere. This project stands as a testament to our dedication to finding innovative solutions to enhance both functionality and aesthetics within residential interiors.

Murphy Table &
Vinyl Shelf

Introducing the Murphy Table, our first completed project of the new year of 2021, which incorporates an integrated vinyl storage. This undertaking presented several exciting firsts for us, including working with OSMO for the finish, as well as crafting a heavy-duty hinging mechanism.

One of the key highlights of the Murphy Table is the custom hinge mechanism, designed to provide both functionality and aesthetic appeal. We paid meticulous attention to the edge details, ensuring a seamless and refined finish.

Crafted from Baltic Birch Plywood, the Murphy Table posed an interesting challenge in designing concealed table legs. However, this challenge gave us the opportunity to create asymmetrical folding table legs, allowing each leg to fold up independently for enhanced versatility.

For an eye-catching contrast in tone and texture, we selected Birch and Nyatoh wood. Nyatoh, in particular, offers a visually appealing look when sanded down and finished with OSMO Polyx.
